1. Nature of the Service
Butler County Residents Directory is privately operated. It describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, and directory collections associated with Butler County, Ohio. It does not host government records and is not connected with any office, court, or records custodian.
2. Permitted Use
Use this service only for lawful purposes. You may not use it, or information reached through it, to:
- Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
- Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
- Commit identity theft or fraud
- Make a decision regulated by the FCRA, including a credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decision
- Scrape, copy, or republish the site's content at scale
- Interfere with the site's operation or security
3. No Consumer Reports
We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Nothing published here, or returned by a linked search service, is a consumer report. It may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-regulated purpose.
4. External Services
Government portals and third-party services, including sponsored tools, have independent terms and policies. Their content, availability, fees, and data practices are not under our control.
5. No Warranty
The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that content is accurate, complete, or current, or that an external portal will work or return a correct result.
6. Limits of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of the service or a linked resource, including decisions based on records reached through it.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold the service operators harmless from claims or demands, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, caused by your misuse of the service or violation of these terms.
8. Intellectual Property
The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Links and brief attributed quotations are permitted, but full-page republication or systematic copying is not.
9. Changes to Terms
We may revise these terms by posting a new version here. Using the service after a revision means you accept it.
10. Restricting Access
We may restrict or block a user who violates these terms or misuses the service, at our discretion and without prior notice.
11. Governing Law
Ohio law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Ohio’s Public Records Act, ORC 149.43, governs access to public records held by Ohio public offices; it does not make this private reference a records custodian.
12. Severability
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
